About the artwork:
Bonjour Tristesse emulates a romantic disappointment that wafts within the textures of life. The text draws from grafiti markings that appeared on a freshly-built residential complex in Kreuzberg in the late 1980s. Now known as the Bonjour Tristesse social housing complex, also referred to as Wohnhaus Schlesisches Tor, the text has become a tangible symbol of striking subtly, friction that is oddly harmonious, a blend of the physical landscape with the landscape of the mind.
