MAEC is a humanitarian organisation dedicated to promoting training and education projects worldwide. We are committed to creating innovative and inclusive programs that help communities develop the skills and knowledge needed to tackle global challenges and realize their full potential. Our core values include equality, inclusiveness, rights, and gender equality.

In Italy, we focus on providing resources for young people to prevent prejudice and hate speech generated by disinformation, aiming to create an inclusive European society. We offer young migrants opportunities for training and integration. In countries of origin, we combat disinformation that leads to loss of life along migration routes by providing crucial information on hidden challenges and dangers.

MAEC projects promote cultural exchange, inclusion, and the sharing of good practices. Our activities are innovative, technological and sustainable, aligning with the values promoted by the European Union to create a more inclusive society, free from disinformation, hate messages, discrimination, violence, and the marginalization of the most vulnerable.

OUR PROJECTS

NIGER: EDUCATION AND SUPPORT FOR VULNERABLE

Niger is one of the poorest countries in the world, with 80% of its population living in rural areas and over 45% living below the poverty line. In this environment, thousands of children are deprived of access to basic education. According to UNESCO, 90% of Nigerien children cannot read or comprehend a text by the age of 10.

In recent years, the worsening humanitarian situation has led to the closure of over 800 schools, many targeted by armed groups. Deprived of education, these children are vulnerable to recruitment by militias or exploitation in child labour. Girls, in particular, face the risk of forced marriages or ending up on the streets.

Our Mission: Bringing Hope through Education

MAEC (Mediterranean Aid Education Center) firmly believes that education is a powerful tool for empowerment that can transform the lives of children, families, and entire communities. Providing the opportunity to children from the poorest families to study means giving them hope for a better future.

For this reason, we have decided to support the project initiated by Zoumaro Bah Traoré, a former player of the Niger national rugby team, for the children of Niamey Rive Droite. Through sport and education, around 250 children from the most vulnerable families in the capital receive access to schooling, regular meals, and medical care.

Empowering Girls through Education

Recognising the importance of female empowerment and the harsh conditions faced by girls and women in Niger, MAEC is committed to supporting the education of girls as part of this initiative.

With just 160 euros per year, we can provide a year of schooling for a girl. With 300 euros, a young woman can receive vocational training to enter the job market. With 1,200 euros, we can restore a computer lab powered by solar energy, enabling students to learn digital skills.

How You Can Make a Difference

We need your support to allow as many children as possible to participate in this life-changing initiative. Your contribution will help us ensure that these children have the chance to learn, grow, and build a brighter future for Niger.
